TechRaptor - Beyond: Two Souls is getting some of the most mixed reviews that I have ever seen, so I figured I would pick up the game and give it a go myself. Since Ive just recently acquired the game, this is only my first impression; a full review is to follow next week. So, lets begin!

CDW:There are only two games on the PS3 that I have ever turned on for the first time and finished without ever turning them off. The first was Metal Gear Solid 4. The other is Beyond: Two Souls. Its very difficult to be unbiased and completely indifferent when it comes to a Quantic Dream game. I was also a fan of Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the USA) and Heavy Rain so my enjoyment of Beyond came as no surprise.

The Daily Beast: Beyond: Two Souls took me about ten hours to complete, and I went through the whole thing in three sittings. Its an inconsistent ride to be sure, but taken as a whole it is undeniably unique. Quantic Dream, love them or hate them, make games like nobody else. I dont know that the game will have any lasting impact on the game industry, but I expect that more than a few interesting conversations will come out of David Cages latest creation.

Beyond: Two Souls is the perfect mix of blending both gaming and movie quality cinema as an unforgettable interactive experience. From her childhood years you want the best for the innocent and vulnerable little girl named Jodie. You might even hold back tears as she screams from the terrors which are unseen yet haunt her sleep, leaving our little princess oftentimes bruised with visible facial scars. In spite of it all, our little princess grows into an accomplished and formidable young woman with an extraordinary story to tell.

What is sad is that in spite of all of this talent and raw technological power at Mr. Cages hands, Beyond: Two Souls attempts at emotional engagement are ultimately crippled by some glaring fundamental flaws."
